P/T lecturer in GMIT from 1993-2014 in counselling and stress management and now lectures P/T at GTI, Galway. Involved in psychotherapy training, supervision and clinical work since 1985 including 10 years extensive full time work in the mental health services of NHS, York as a counsellor and group therapist.
Elaine King B Rel Sc., Diploma in Biodynamic and Integrative Psychotherapy, MIAHIP. IAHIP Accredited Psychotherapist and Supervisor. Adult and Youth Mindfulness Trainer.
Elaine is a teacher, having worked in second level, community and adult education. She has worked in psychiatric settings, national organisations and in Counselling and Psychotherapy Training Institutes. Elaine presently works as a psychotherapist with individuals and groups combining analytical thinking with bodywork, breath work and movement. Supervisor of psychotherapists and other professionals in individual and group settings.
Helen Griffin MA Art therapy, Adv Dip Psychotherapy, Cert Clay Field Therapy, MIACAT
Helen is an Art Psychotherapist and Artist with post-graduate training in Psychotherapy. She holds a first class honours degree in Art Therapy from CIT Cork, and trained as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist with the Tivoli Institute in Dun Laoghaire. She uses an integrative and humanistic approach specialising in using creative processes within a therapeutic relationship and guided by each individual’s needs. She has experience of working as a therapist within primary, secondary and special education, acute mental health, community day centres, and charity organisations. Helen is fully accredited with the Irish Association of Creative Arts Therapists (IACAT) and an associate member of the Irish Association of Integrative and Humanistic Psychotherapy (IAHIP) and works with children, adolescents and adults in her private practice in Co. Galway.
Christopher Place BA Psych, MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy, MIACP
Chris trained as a counselor and psychotherapist with the Tivoli institute. He works in an integrative and humanistic way seeing clients as experts in their own lives and draws from different therapeutic approaches to best meet the needs of the client. He sees the therapeutic relationship as key in facilitating change. Chris obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology in 2004 and worked as a lecturer and researcher in psychology before embarking on a professional training in psychotherapy. He is fully accredited with the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP).
