Theoretical input through reading materials and email input. Overview of the counselling and psychotherapy field: training aspects and trends. Understanding counselling skills, attitudes and principles. The course duration is a maximum of 12 weeks. Skills development exercises and demonstration. Six modules:
 

Module 1:  Defining Counselling. Professional Training

Module 2:  Theories and Approaches

Module 3:  Recognising best practice. Choosing a Therapist

Module 4:  Core Principles, Boundaries and Attitudes

Module 5:  Counselling Skills Framework: Basic approach
